At CG Elite Events we look at a large number of things that will make someone the ideal candidate for the type of promotional / event work we provide. These include a number of things that we would like to share with you as follows.
Appearance and pride of appearance is an incredibly important thing within this industry and at CG Elite Events we pride ourselves on our staff’s smart and well-kept appearance.
Having a good logic and using it well will help you go far in the event industry. Of course, during a shift naturally you may have questions on a certain issue. However a lot of the time common sense and thinking on your toes can really help, especially in a fast paced environment at an event.
A good attitude is a huge element and personality trait needed for anyone working in the event industry. If you have the right attitude you will go far and you will continue to get booked in for shifts. Don’t ever think a smile and a good work ethic go unnoticed.
Manners – this takes it back to the basics of the event industry and how we would expect our staff to greet guests at the events. A welcoming demeanour and the simple “please” and “thank you’s” are more highly regarded than you might have first thought.
Having a thick skin and being persistent is also a key attribute that will serve you well. As we all know the general public aren’t always the most polite and forgiving of individuals however whilst working in events you must remain positive and continue to get the job done with a smile on your face.
You will need confidence, personality, communication and the ability to slot easily into your designated team. If you are shy, introvert or even get nervous around lots of people then the event industry is probably not a wise choice for you.
Be prepared – preparation is almost as important as the shift itself. You must always prepare to look the part with the correct grooming, hair and make up and uniform ready for the shift at hand. Being organised and planning correctly are two key attributes we at CG Elite Events pride our staff on.
